Abdul Haq (on my right) was one of the major Mujaheddin commanders who was captured and executed by the Taliban soon after 9/11. Two other journalists and I interviewed him here on the outskirts of Kabul. He always insisted on sharing his favorite sweets: sweet green tea and sugared almonds.
